Mrs Lynn Harrison
Tullacrest Border Collies
I have been exhibiting and breeding dogs for most of my life, having started as a child, handling English Cocker Spaniels and then purchasing my first Standard Smooth Dachshund in 1967, a breed I thoroughly enjoyed showing up until 1974 when I purchased my first Border Collie “Crestvale Gay Panda” from John & Gloria Whyte of Crestvale Kennels and then in 1977, purchased my second Border Collie, “Aust.Ch. Tullaview Temptress” from Patrice and Gary Knight of Tullaview Kennels. “Lindy” was instrumental in putting the breed on the map in the All Breeds Conformation Ring in Australia in the late 70’s & 80’s. This started my lifelong love affair with the breed and you now know how our Kennel Prefix was derived.
Under the “Tullacrest” prefix, my husband Bill and I have bred over 65+ Champions, including Supreme Champions, Grand Champions and Multi Best in Show Winners. Border Collies bred or co-owned by us, have been successful in many Disciplines throughout Australia and around the World and have been awarded many Royal Challenges, Best In Shows, Runner Up Best in Shows, a Third Best in Show at Melbourne Royal, numerous Best Exhibit in Groups at Royal Shows and a Best Puppy in Show at the 1978 Melbourne Royal Show, which is one of Australia’s largest All Breed Dog shows. “Tullacrest” is behind many top winning & top producing Border Collies in Australia and around the World. We have bred so many beautiful and very successful Borders, that are all very worthy of their own individual accolades, but as this resume needs to be brief, I would like to mention a few bred by us, co-owned by us, or that we have campaigned over the years: Supreme Ch. Tullacrest Moulen Rouge, Supreme Ch. Tullacrest Call Me Maybe (owned by P. Smith & C. Spencer), Grand Ch. Tullacrest Soul Mate, Grand Ch. Tullacrest Lick Sipn Suk, Grand Ch. Alas, as the years have caught up with me, running around the show ring with a Border Collie is no longer possible, so in the past few years, I’ve gone full circle and am now back exhibiting dachshunds, where walking around the ring is the requirement. However, you will never find me far away from the Working Dog ring at most shows, watching my beloved Border Collies.
I have had the privilege of judging Border Collie Specialty Shows in Victoria, New South Wales and Queensland and in October 2012, I was very honoured to be invited to judge the Border Collie National of America. In April 2013, I judged both sexes and Best in Show at the Southern Border Collie Club Specialty Show in the United Kingdom. Then at Crufts 2020, I was very lucky to be present in the Main Arena on the final evening to see Sarah Stacey win Best in Show, Young Kennel Club Stakes Final with “Dylan” – Tullacrest Signd Syld Deliverd to Bilyara JW ShCM ShCEx (Imp Aust), which was such a truly memorable moment. |
